THE JAN PLUMMER AWARD

The Jan Plummer Award was instigated in 1995 to honor the memory of Cr. Jan Plummer who passed away during that year.

Jan was a member of council for approximately 20 years.  Also the Mayor, she was a staunch supporter of the then Nunawading Youth Club, acting as advisor and Club-Council Liaison Officer.  Jan was always there to offer advice and assistance to the club at any time.  She was a positive role model for our young people.

More importantly, Jan believed in what the club espouses.

The award is given to the club member who best represents the ideals of Nunawading Gymnastics & Sports Club.

The recipient is someone who is an example to other young gymnasts, who fulfills the ideals of the club mission statement which is “to achieve their own personal level of excellence”.

A person who presents well to coaches, staff and club members, is a valuable team member, enjoys their program, is willing to learn and accept new challenges in addition to being a positive representative of Nunawading Gymnastics and Sports Club in the wider community.
