Gymnastics for All or GfA is a recreational gymnastics program for girls and boys that incorporates elements of all gymnastics disciplines and is taught in a fun and safe environment. It is our base program here at Nunawading Gymnastics and Sports Club and is inspired by the national ‘Gymnastics for All’ program that encourages participants to enjoy a range of apparatus and activities including trampolines, acrobatics, rhythmic gymnastics, group displays and the traditional vault, bars, rings, beam, and floor. We focus on the fundamental movement patterns that will help children to then progress into more advanced skills or activities. The GfA program provides a clear pathway for children and makes it easy to identify when a child is ready to move up to the next level. The program also provides an avenue for those children who may wish to take the next challenge and move to a competitive or semi-competitive class.
GfA level 1 & 2
In GfA level 1 and 2 the games and activities are safe and encourage children to work with others, cooperate and build self-esteem. These levels are suitable for children aged 5 to 8 years old. Classes run for one hour from Monday to Saturday.
GfA levels 3 & 4
GfA level 3 and 4 is suitable for boys and girls ages 7 – 11. Classes run for one hour Monday to Friday and present a more challenging program than levels 1 and 2 while building on the basic skills learnt and achieved in the lower levels.
GfA level 5 & 6
These classes are suitable for children aged 9-13 and run for 1.5 hours. Skills in these levels are becoming more advanced while still maintaining a fun and encouraging environment. Classes currently run on Tuesdays.
GfA 11+ classes
These class are designed for children aged 11 years and older who are new or are returning to gymnastics after a long break. We provide a safe, challenging, and supportive environment to learn new skills. Gymnasts in these classes are encouraged to set their own goals and work towards achieving these goals. Classes run on Monday and Thursday.
